Who we are and what we’re doing

Mission: to become a meeting place and platform at CUNY SPH for those of us who want to explore how to and advocate for addressing systemic racism in our roles as teachers, students, researchers and public health professionals.
1. to develop and test (as a community) pedagogical approaches to engage ourselves and our students in confronting systemic racism and its role in health and social justice;
2. to advocate for a coherent unified public health curriculum that puts dismantling systemic racism at its center;
3. to envision/develop strategies, activities and expectations that facilitate CUNY SPH faculty to become proficient at teaching about systemic racism
4. develop relationships with other entities at SPH (e.g., APT, departments, committee on inclusion and diversity, curriculum committee, student groups, admissions committee, etc) in order to facilitate school-wide antiracist efforts.
